Paint Enhancement VS. Paint Correction

So this is a complicated yet simple comparison between the two different services that we offer.

Imagine a car’s paint as terrain. Scratches would be the valleys and the smooth surface would be the glistening water of a lake or a nice flat field in central California. Now some valleys are bigger than others. Some valleys are like the Grand Canyon and others like a nice rolling hill valley. To bring the metaphor back, the valleys are like the surface of a car’s clear coat with scratches. When a car first is painted and a clear coat is applied in the factory, it is flat, smooth, and shiny without imperfections. With this metaphor as context let’s explain the difference between enhancement and paint correction.

Paint enhancement: usually a 1-step polish of the paint to remove fine scratches and smooth the paint out. To go back to the metaphor, this would be to smooth out the nice rolling hill valley by flattening the tops of the valley down until it’s a smoother surface. Now paint enhancement won’t remove severe scratches, but it will flatten them down a bit to give the paint a smoother surface. This also helps a protective coating stay on the paint as the paint will easily keep a nice matrix or cross-hatch type bond to itself when the surface is smoother.

Paint Correction: this would be a lengthy 2-step polish of the paint to remove severe, moderate, and fine scratches which will smooth the paint out to a scratchless finish (5% margin of error). The 5% margin of error comes into play when a scratch is so deep it really goes down past the clear coat and all the way to the paint, primer, or in some cases, even the bare metal like in a car crash or fender bender scenario. Paint correction is a delicate process of smoothing the clear coat to remove 95% of scratches.

Hopefully that was a simple enough explanation!
